1. Develop a mission statement.
"There are many tools available to help write a mission or vision statement. but I think it's often best to keep it simple - one or two sentences - and describe why the business exist. What is the core value or the daily purpose? Write it down and share it with everyone!"
Take some time to consider what you want to achieve through your work. Along with personal goals, this can give you not only motivation, but direction as well. Your mission statement is basically an encapsulation of your overarching career goals.
2. Step outside of your comfort zone.
Move out of your comfort zone. You can only grow if you are willing to feel awkward and uncomfortable when you try something new. When you take responsibility for your life, serendipitous events unfold and lead you to awaken your inherent wisdom.
From time to time, you may suffer periods of uncertainty, which on the surface appears as though your world is sinking. You might feel helpless and unable to navigate your journey ahead. Rest assured life isn’t always smooth sailing. Seeking refuge in that statement liberates us from having to push against the forces of life.
Like any journey, the intention to reach one’s destination is typically heralded by a goal or a plan, though you may not anticipate the rough waters ahead. That is, you might have to sail your boat in uncharted waters to reach your final destination.
Life’s journey is filled with countless lessons, which many fail to concede when embroiled in their drama.
3.Cultivate yourself.
In the business world, knowledge is the key to solving problems, analysing situations, managing risk and translating ideas into action. Whether you’re looking to start a business, considering a career change, a promotion at work or simply trying to find a way to advance your skills, education can help you achieve your business goals.
But it isn’t just about what you pick up in a classroom. Sure, classroom education is useful and valuable, but the real opportunity to grow and learn more also takes place outside of the classroom.Studies show that people who step up and take advantage of the educational opportunities available place themselves in a better lifelong position to succeed in their field.
Educating yourself goes beyond reading books and absorbing material on your topic area. It’s all about expanding your ability to think and understand the world around you. Identify areas that you’d like to learn more about, or those that you can absorb in one of your areas of interest. Then set some time aside every day for self-directed learning.
